A cataract is a clouding of the natural lens. The natural lens is inside the eye just behind the pupil. In the early stages of cataract development we may be able to improve vision with only a change in the glasses. Eventually the lens may become so cloudy that vision can not be improved until it is removed.
Cataract surgery has benefited greatly from advances in technology and as a result is an outpatient procedure with typically very little discomfort.
At Randleman Eye Center we work with co-managing surgeons that perform state-of-the-art cataract surgery and also work with our doctors so in most cases you can return to our doctors for your follow-up care.
